Inside the case

01

Screening moved forward in less than two months

For this Phase 1/2 plaque psoriasis study, WCR screened 15 participants in less than two months, building early momentum for the study.

02

Thirteen participants reached randomization

Thirteen of the 15 screened participants were randomized, representing an 86.7% screening-to-randomization conversion. The other two participants accounted for one screen failure and one early withdrawal.

03

Participation started with preparation

Our team discussed study requirements before screening and maintained open communication throughout participation. This relationship-focused approach supported high compliance among active participants, alongside the study’s 13 randomizations.

The challenge. Our response.

Clear eligibility. Clear procedure expectations.

Restrictive eligibility criteria and a required biopsy made early conversations about both qualification and participation especially important.

Restrictive eligibility

The challenge

A candidate’s interest in the trial did not by itself establish that the protocol’s eligibility criteria were met.

How our team responds

We focus pre-screening on the protocol requirements and discuss the participation commitment before scheduling screening, helping candidates understand the process from the start.

A required biopsy

The challenge

The biopsy requirement was a meaningful consideration for candidates deciding whether to participate.

How our team responds

We explain the biopsy requirement before screening, make room for questions, and clarify the visit expectations. Open communication continues throughout participation so concerns can be raised with the study team.

Study outcome

15 screened in less than two months. Thirteen participants randomized.

The participant experience

Recruit with the full study experience in mind.

Before screening, our team discussed participation requirements and readiness to follow the study plan. Relationship building and open communication continued during the trial, supporting high compliance among active participants.

Set expectations before screening

We discuss the study commitment early, including what participation will require and whether candidates feel ready to meet those expectations. Pre-screening helps establish a shared understanding before the first screening visit.

Build a working relationship

Participants need a team they can talk to. We build relationships throughout the study and keep communication open so questions and practical concerns can be raised with the site.

Keep the focus on follow-through

Our participant engagement approach continues beyond randomization. We stay connected throughout participation to support retention and compliance with study requirements.

Support through the study.

We provide transportation support when needed to help participants attend study visits. We also discuss scheduling concerns early and maintain open communication throughout participation, helping address the practical barriers that can make follow-through difficult.

The result

15 screened in less than two months. Thirteen participants randomized.
