Wellness Clinical Research startup case study showing 43 days from site selection to first participant screened

A recent Phase 2b cardiovascular study at Wellness Clinical Research moved from site selection to first participant screened in 43 calendar days.

The site was selected on July 15, activated on August 12, and completed the first screening on August 27. That represents 28 days from selection to activation, followed by 15 additional days to the first screening visit.

Startup is only the first milestone

For clinical operations teams, activation and screening readiness are separate milestones. Regulatory, contracting, training, source preparation, recruitment planning, investigator availability, and study-specific workflows all have to come together before the first participant can be screened.

This case reflects the coordinated work of our investigators, coordinators, study partners, and the participants who chose to take part in the research.

Why we are sharing the timeline

Sponsors and CROs deserve a clear view of how sites execute after selection. We believe practical milestone data can make startup conversations more useful and help study teams evaluate readiness beyond a completed checklist.

Wellness Clinical Research supports research programs from our Miami Lakes, Florida and Vega Baja, Puerto Rico locations.
