Inside the case

01

From selection to site activation

For this Phase 2b cardiovascular study, WCR reached site activation 28 calendar days after selection. That milestone opened the way for screening to begin.

02

Screening began 15 days after activation

The first participant was screened 15 days after activation, or 43 days after site selection. By day 50, five participants had been screened.

03

Screening translated into enrollment

All five participants in that initial screening group were randomized. Early conversations about study expectations and continued participant contact supported strong compliance during participation. The result connects startup execution to an enrolled study population.

The challenge. Our response.

Carry startup momentum into participant readiness.

The operational challenge was to connect site readiness with a prepared initial screening group, then carry that group forward into enrollment.

From activation to the first screening

The challenge

Site activation had to translate into a practical first screening appointment and an informed participant.

How our team responds

We pair early screening preparation with clear conversations about the study commitment and participant availability. WCR reached first screening 15 days after activation, or 43 days after selection.

From an initial screening group to randomization

The challenge

The first five screenings needed continued participant engagement as candidates moved through the study process.

How our team responds

Our approach keeps communication open beyond the screening visit and prepares participants for the next steps. All five participants in the initial screened group went on to randomization.

Study outcome

43 days from selection to first screening. Five screened participants progressed to randomization.

The participant experience

Prepare for participation while preparing the site.

Moving quickly into screening also meant helping participants understand the commitment ahead. Our team set expectations early and maintained open communication as the initial screened group progressed to randomization, supporting strong compliance during participation.

Set expectations before screening

We discuss the study commitment early, including what participation will require and whether candidates feel ready to meet those expectations. Pre-screening helps establish a shared understanding before the first screening visit.

Build a working relationship

Participants need a team they can talk to. We build relationships throughout the study and keep communication open so questions and practical concerns can be raised with the site.

Keep the focus on follow-through

Our participant engagement approach continues beyond randomization. We stay connected throughout participation to support retention and compliance with study requirements.

Practical participant support

Help with the journey.
Support through the study.

We provide transportation support when needed to help participants attend study visits. We also discuss scheduling concerns early and maintain open communication throughout participation, helping address the practical barriers that can make follow-through difficult.

The result

43 days from selection to first screening. Five screened participants progressed to randomization.
