Phase 3 · Obesity

First screening in two days. Twenty randomized.

WCR screened its first participant two days after activation. The study went on to randomize 20 of 22 screened participants, a 90.9% conversion.

Inside the case

01

Screening began two days after activation

WCR moved from site activation to first participant screening in two calendar days for this Phase 3 obesity trial.

02

Twenty randomizations from twenty-two screenings

Of 22 participants screened, 20 were randomized and two were screen failures. The resulting 90.9% screened-to-randomized conversion connects screening activity directly to enrollment delivery.

03

Execution continued beyond the first milestone

Our team combined preparation before screening with ongoing participant relationships and open communication. High participant compliance accompanied the enrollment result, extending the operational focus beyond the two-day first-screening milestone.

The challenge. Our response.

Start promptly. Keep the participant pathway moving.

The execution focus was to move quickly from activation into screening and then sustain engagement as eligible participants progressed to randomization.

A prompt first screening after activation

The challenge

The first screening required participant readiness to line up with the newly activated site.

How our team responds

We emphasize early conversations about the screening process and study commitment. The first participant was screened two calendar days after site activation.

Screening activity that translated into enrollment

The challenge

Screening needed to produce an eligible, prepared randomized population while keeping participants connected to the site.

How our team responds

We combine preparation before screening with ongoing relationships and communication. Twenty of 22 screened participants were randomized, with two screen failures.

Study outcome

Two days to first screening. 20 randomized. 90.9% screening-to-randomization conversion.

The participant experience

Fast activation. Sustained participant attention.

The first screening was an early milestone in a longer participant relationship. Clear expectations before screening and open communication during participation supported high compliance as our team continued to work with enrolled participants.

Set expectations before screening

We discuss the study commitment early, including what participation will require and whether candidates feel ready to meet those expectations. Pre-screening helps establish a shared understanding before the first screening visit.

Build a working relationship

Participants need a team they can talk to. We build relationships throughout the study and keep communication open so questions and practical concerns can be raised with the site.

Keep the focus on follow-through

Our participant engagement approach continues beyond randomization. We stay connected throughout participation to support retention and compliance with study requirements.

Practical participant support

Help with the journey.
Support through the study.

We provide transportation support when needed to help participants attend study visits. We also discuss scheduling concerns early and maintain open communication throughout participation, helping address the practical barriers that can make follow-through difficult.

The result

Two days to first screening. 20 randomized. 90.9% screening-to-randomization conversion.
