Wellness Clinical Research is recognizing Principal Investigator Lucky Flores, MD, for his contribution as a LUCENT study investigator.

The New England Journal of Medicine published the LUCENT-1 and LUCENT-2 research in June 2023. This WCR announcement recognizes that earlier publication and its investigator supplement.

Induction and maintenance in ulcerative colitis

The trials evaluated mirikizumab, an antibody directed against the p19 subunit of interleukin-23, in adults with moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis.

LUCENT-1 evaluated induction treatment. LUCENT-2 evaluated maintenance in participants who responded to induction. The publication reported clinical remission and other clinical and endoscopic outcomes, including bowel-movement urgency.

A verified connection to Wellness Clinical Research

The LUCENT investigator appendix names Lucky Flores and identifies Wellness Clinical Research in Hialeah, Florida. That historical affiliation gives a direct link between the investigator credit and WCR. Dr. Flores now serves with WCR in Miami Lakes.

The collaborator listing recognizes his contribution to the trial program and provides the basis for this investigator recognition.

An established record in inflammatory bowel disease research

This publication adds to Dr. Flores’s documented involvement in inflammatory bowel disease development. WCR has separately highlighted his contribution to earlier mirikizumab research in Crohn’s disease.

The LUCENT ulcerative colitis studies are distinct from that Crohn’s disease program. Recognizing each contribution helps sponsors and CROs review the investigator’s relevant experience while assessing fit for a particular protocol.
