Wellness Clinical Research is proud to recognize Dr. Gustavo Albizu as a co-author of ulcerative colitis research selected for United European Gastroenterology (UEG) Week 2026.
The official congress abstract lists him as G. Albizu-Angulo, with Wellness Clinical Research LLC in Puerto Rico as his institutional affiliation.
UEG Week 2026 takes place October 17–20 in Barcelona, Spain. Dr. David T. Rubin of the University of Chicago is scheduled to present the study on October 20 during the session on novel therapeutics in inflammatory bowel disease.
Advancing ulcerative colitis research
The Phase 2a study evaluates ALTB-268, an investigational antibody targeting CD162, also known as PSGL-1, in patients with moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis who had an inadequate response to prior advanced therapy. The abstract reports efficacy, safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetic findings following 12 weeks of treatment.
A continued contribution to gastroenterology research
Dr. Albizu’s co-authorship builds on his involvement in inflammatory bowel disease research. He and WCR investigator Dr. Lucky Flores were also named authors on earlier published Phase II ulcerative colitis research evaluating neihulizumab.
For WCR, this scientific contribution reflects the role that community-based investigators and dedicated site teams play in clinical development. We are proud to recognize Dr. Albizu and our Puerto Rico team for their continued work in this field.
